That is probably one of the most hilarious statements that I've ever heard come out of a DJ's mouth. And he just said with a big smile on his face. But who can blame him? Have you seen Nicki Minaj? She's probably the closest thing to an alien that we have on this planet. Oh wait.. let me think about that for a second...
Ok, ok. Lady Gaga takes the cake. But Nicki definitely comes in at 2nd place!
As for the interview, David Guetta delves into how his pop hit "Turn me On" was created into a music video and how he is glad that it doesn't do the normal party movie formula. Check out the interview for yourself!
That’s right, Electric Zoo 2012 is almost here and arriving with full force with incredible DJ’s. It’s 3 days of the best partying, dancing, and head-banging experience to ever take place in New York. You know that one good looking and attractive girl/guy you know? Well, Electric Daisy Carnival and every other festival is that person and E-Zoo is their older, hotter, and better sister/brother. The venue is at Randall’s Island Park, which is an island located between Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens. Essentially, you’ll be raging as the city skyline surrounds you. Hopefully, I will be able to hype you guys up. So without further ado, here is a quick day-by-day rundown of some of the artists that are a part of the lineup.

Ya, nice pic. You could only imagine to have this view in your wildest dreams.. I know. It hurts. But now focus on this new R3hab track. With tens of thousands of plays on soundcloud in only 24 hours, this track will most definitely hit the dj circuits soon and will make all those booties which you love so much, shake and shake it good. Thankfully, R3hab knew that the Lil Wayne part sucked and took it out. Way better than the original in my opinion. For a pop track, I approve.
This is HUGE news. Now while there might be a small translation error to what "retiring" means, this is definitely a big step for Guetta. It seems like he wants to take a back seat and work on his label, JackBack records and take a break from touring. Let us see if this isn't similar to Jay-Z "Retiring," because if it is, that means we still be seeing plenty of Guetta, just maybe not as much.

First on the list is an explosive new preview by dubstep and electro house artist Feed Me (AKA Spor in the neurofunk DNB circles). This new track is called 'My Little Cat Steps'. Coming from Mau5trap records, this song sounds like it's going to be pretty huge.
Next up is an Aussie remix of SHM's 'Don't Worry Child' done by rising talent Anndyk. This really diverges from the original and is worth a listen!
Lauren Lane, another DJ on the rise, has released some SICK deep house. Really liking this tech-inspired, refreshing take on the genre, check out her track 'Lazer Eyes' below!
Another one to check out this week is a preview of David Guetta and Nicky Romero's most recent collaboration, 'Oval'! Heavy French Electro House here.
Reminiscent of a mix between David Guetta's 'Metropolis' and the style of The Prodigy comes 'Dear New York' by Firebeatz & Schella. Look out for this track in upcoming festivals!
It's not often you hear an electro house remix of a reggae track, but that's what Benny Benassi has decided to do. He's taken Bob Marley's classic 'Jammin' and has turned it into a banging, upbeat hit!
Abruptly cutting off their new track at the height of its climax in this preview, Dirty South & Alesso made me laugh rather than tear up with emotion. However, I do think this track will be epically tender like usual, and I'm looking forward to its release.
Sander Van Doorn has kindly introduced 16-year-old producer Julian Jones to fame with this next electro house banger. Very catchy and big, check it out soon.
Nicky Romero has been active this week! Collaborating here with Calvin Harris, their new track 'Iron' will be released in September!
Lastly, Ken Loi brings us an upbeat remix to Topher Jones' Brohammer! Check it out below!

Jack Back reunites once again as Nicky Romero and David Guetta collaborate on yet another stellar track. "Oval" is highly reminiscent the newer David Guetta sound heard in tracks like "Alphabeat" and "Stockholm" off his latest release "Nothing But The Beat". While Nicky Romero's signature low end wobbles aren't as prominent as his previous collaboration like "Wild One Two", I still like the direction this track heads in. The beat is much more grounded in french style electro (melodic David Guetta style, not SebastiAn style...) as opposed to the big room house that's been inundating the market in recent months.

It's that time of the year again folks. It's time to vote for your favorite DJ in DJ Mag's yearly poll to name the most popular artist for 2012! Last year we saw David Guetta snag the top spot from perennial winner Armin Van Buuren.
Who will take the top spot this year? Will Armin retake that throne and prove to the world that he is fact the best DJ/Producer from the past year? He sure has a great chance as his A State Of Trance 550 Invasion Tour was one of the greatest single events to ever happen in recent EDM history. With several shows in Europe and America selling out almost immediately and interest already booming for his upcoming ASOT 600 show.

American producer Deadmau5 always has a shot as his past year has been riddled with his outspoken chatter on his social media pages. His popularity has soared with people supporting his bashing of David Guetta for being a "just hit play" DJ and his bashing of Madonna for being a "funky grandma." Not to mention his response to Madonna's drug reference at Ultra Music Festival. On top of it all, he scored the cover on the recent Rolling Stone magazine.
Or maybe it will be Skrillex? He is the first electronic music artist to win 3 Grammys after all.
The list goes on and on with talented artists such as Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Kaskade, and the Swedish House Mafia having an opportunity to take the top spot as well. Only time will tell and the power is in your hands.
