Nicky Romero & Fedde Le Grand - Sparks (Preview)

Tuesday, 03 July 2012
Published in New Music

Nicky Romero and Fedde Le Grand land another crowd igniter with their new release "Sparks." This is an epic preview, thus promised to be a classic when it's fully released on Beatport July 16th, through Flamingo Recordings within the next few weeks. I'm stoked for it!

What a release of remixes! Nicky Romero drops a monster beat with a flare of big room house style, Fred Falke combines a radical melody along with timely upbeat tempos. R3hab adds his nifty dance influence and intense build ups to the mix while Nick Thayer rounds out the group by slowin it down, emanating a kickin moombahton feel with what I think is the most unique remix. I knew it was Nick as soon as i heard it. That being said, all these tracks gave me an urge to dance or at least viciously headbang. Enjoy them after the break ;)

PS: If you haven't heard the original, here ya go!

March 2012 - Top Tracks of the Month + Updates

Thursday, 05 April 2012
Published in Top Tracks

March was a busy, busy month. With Ultra Music Festival, Miami Music Week, & Beyond Wonderland taking the spotlight, the music behind all of their success is what really counts right? Well.. it does for most of it.  Ultra Music Festival was bouncing with some of the most sexy people in the world that I have ever seen gathered in one place. For anyone who does frequent the massives, the guys (and some girls I know too) go just to take in the eye-candy. The boundaries are blurred and the party girls are out to impress and show off their bodies in all their amazingness and it is LEGEN..... WAIT FOR IT....

DARY! (I've been stuck on a How I Met Your Mother craze, couldn't help myself)

To top it all off, they are in public dancing right along with the rest of us. Anything to complain about? I think not fellas.

Weekly Beats - August 2012 - Week 3

Thursday, 23 August 2012
Published in Top Tracks

Here are this week's top tracks!  For last week's edition, click here!

First on the list is an explosive new preview by dubstep and electro house artist Feed Me (AKA Spor in the neurofunk DNB circles).  This new track is called 'My Little Cat Steps'.  Coming from Mau5trap records, this song sounds like it's going to be pretty huge.

Next up is an Aussie remix of SHM's 'Don't Worry Child' done by rising talent Anndyk.  This really diverges from the original and is worth a listen!

Lauren Lane, another DJ on the rise, has released some SICK deep house. Really liking this tech-inspired, refreshing take on the genre, check out her track 'Lazer Eyes' below!

Another one to check out this week is a preview of David Guetta and Nicky Romero's most recent collaboration, 'Oval'!  Heavy French Electro House here.

Reminiscent of a mix between David Guetta's 'Metropolis' and the style of The Prodigy comes 'Dear New York' by Firebeatz & Schella.  Look out for this track in upcoming festivals!

It's not often you hear an electro house remix of a reggae track, but that's what Benny Benassi has decided to do.  He's taken Bob Marley's classic 'Jammin' and has turned it into a banging, upbeat hit!

Abruptly cutting off their new track at the height of its climax in this preview, Dirty South & Alesso made me laugh rather than tear up with emotion.  However, I do think this track will be epically tender like usual, and I'm looking forward to its release.

Sander Van Doorn has kindly introduced 16-year-old producer Julian Jones to fame with this next electro house banger.  Very catchy and big, check it out soon.

Nicky Romero has been active this week!  Collaborating here with Calvin Harris, their new track 'Iron' will be released in September!

Lastly, Ken Loi brings us an upbeat remix to Topher Jones' Brohammer!  Check it out below!

Thanks for listening, and be sure to check out the next edition of weekly beats!

So this past Thursday, March 22nd, 2012, Nick Romero and Mark Brown from MYNC (and founder of Cr2 records) sat down with us at electrojan, with very special help from our friends at More electro Please, to discuss their 2012 WMC Compilation Mix in Miami the day before Ultra Music Festival started.

David Guetta & Nicky Romero - Oval (Preview) [Protocol]

Thursday, 16 August 2012
Published in House

Jack Back reunites once again as Nicky Romero and David Guetta collaborate on yet another stellar track.  "Oval" is highly reminiscent the newer David Guetta sound heard in tracks like "Alphabeat" and "Stockholm" off his latest release "Nothing But The Beat".  While Nicky Romero's signature low end wobbles aren't as prominent as his previous collaboration like "Wild One Two", I still like the direction this track heads in.  The beat is much more grounded in french style electro (melodic David Guetta style, not SebastiAn style...) as opposed to the big room house that's been inundating the market in recent months.

Check out the preview below!

Nicky Romero - Electric Zoo Mix

Wednesday, 22 August 2012
Published in Music

In anticipation of the most anticipated Labor Day event in the Tri-State area, Nicky Romero has unleashed a massive mix to prep our ears for what is bound to be a set to remember at Electric Zoo this year.  Infusing some of his new material like his collaboration with Zedd titled "Human" to the highly anticipated collaboration with David Guetta titled "Oval" with set staples like "Nicktim" "Bong", Romero once again proves his worth.  This man is just on fire!

Check out the mix below, and you can see the tracklist after the jump:

Nicky Romero & Zedd - Human

Tuesday, 31 July 2012
Published in New Music

Hot off the heals of Zedd's "Spectrum EP" pack comes "Human", a grinding house collaboration between Zedd and Nicky Romero.  The track highlights that low end crunching bass that both producers seem to love so much, yet after hearing the stellar releases put out recently by both producers like "WTF!" and "Spectrum", I'm left wanting a little bit more.  Although I wouldn't consider this a track to gloss over, I think I'll stick with bathing my ears in the "Spectrum EP" today.

You can listen to a preview below, or purchase the track on Beatport here.
